Samuel Goss conspired to make the world a little more musical, way back in 1899:
My invention relates to bicycles, and has for its object to provide a combined bicycle and musical instrument whereby the rider when so disposed may treat himself and others in his immediate neighborhood to a musical accompaniment as he rides along.
The idea is that it’s a great big music box that runs off the energy from pedaling. I guess you could set up a tandem bike and play “A Bicycle Built for Two” in harmony? Maybe – the song came out just 5 years later, in 1904.
